Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Multisport Water Shoes - Men's:
Where should I start? First of all I do not consider these shoes. They are more like a second skin that allows you to go where you would normally have to have some pretty good calluses built up to go. I wear them absolutely everywhere. From the grocery store to the trails to work and back. I have been slowly trying to get my feet into shape over the past few years to finally go shoeless. Now with the discovery of FiveFingers I can jump head first in.
You will receive an incredible amount of feedback from these "skins." I was surprised that I could very easily tell the difference between the types of terrain I was walking on. Walking on grass feels like walking on grass.
If your body is not used to walking naturally it may take some time for your body to adjust. I got my girlfriend a pair and she loved them at first sight. Though, during the first two weeks or so of wearing them her calves were very sore as well as her lower back. She also had some difficulty getting them on quickly to start off with which she felt to be a pain but never really bothered me.
I would absolutely recommend FiveFingers to anyone. I just wish they had child sizes available because I can think of no better platform for a child's foot to develop in.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Multisport Water Shoes - Men's:
I've never written a product review before, and I have purchased many great products online. This will only start to give you some sort of idea of how much I love these. Words cannot describe how amazing they are. I received them in the mail today and immediately took them on an 8 mile hike to Mt. Si in the seattle area. I should note that I have been rock climbing and slacklining for many years, so I jumped right into using these. Others will want to take it slower to prevent injury. When wearing these I felt free like a child again. I was able to move with increased agility and had no problem adapting to walking in them quickly. I had done some research and read that a natural barefoot walking motion required landing on the ball of the foot, so I focused on this the entire hike. It felt awkward at first, but it started to become more natural as the miles passed. I had to return to a heal strike stride for the last mile, because my calves had become so sore from learning how to walk correctly. Once I build these muscles up the way nature intended these shoes will be even better. I think my feet were actually less sore at the end of the hike than on previous hike of the same length wearing trail runners. And, this is my first time using these, so it's only going to get better.
They also performed exceptionally well in wet slippery conditions. The grip on wet rock, and even slippery wood is far better than any shoe I have ever tried. I also jogged a bit in them, which felt great. However, I didn't want to push it too hard for the first outing, so I mainly kept to walking.
As added bonuses, I felt an increased connection with nature. I was walking IN nature, instead of ON nature. Every step brought a new sensation, and I felt the hike in a way I never had. I actually tried to walk through mud and puddles because it felt great! This product enhances the strength and beauty of the human form, without masking it like shoes do. I'm writing this review not to help Vibram out, but because I actually believe this is a product that has the potential to drastically change a persons view of the world.

I use these shoes for everything outdoors.. after about 3-4wks of daily use you'll notice your balance improve dramatically. Your feet will be sore for the first week or so but its worth it! Only issue I've had has been on cold concrete. They don't insulate very well below 40 degrees, but that's outside their design parameters anyway... Make sure you accurately measure your foot!!! Add a size if you want to wear socks, and if you want to wear socks, get ones with individual toes.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Multisport Water Shoes - Men's:
I have worn these shoes almost nonstop for a month now and I absolutely love them. Yes there are caveats, but they pale in comparison overall to all the benefits of having these shoes. The only trouble I had the first week or two is some discomfort around the toenail area. I trimmed my toenails before trying them on and buying them, then trimmed them again after using them a day, then trimmed them again a day later. My toes felt a little cramped the first week, but the material stretched a little and now I can hardly tell they are on my feet.
The biggest thing I had to get used to was how the shoes look. Before I bought them I looked at pictures everywhere and said- man those look ugly. The only big reaction I've had to them was at work- everyone crowded around the first day. Otherwise I have had only one stranger come up to me to say they loved how they looked and where did I get them.
I've used them for walking everywhere, hiking, running, work outs, etc. I hiked a 10 mile out and back trail with 16 stream crossings each way and while everyone else was rock hopping trying not fall in, I was casually walking through the water (even helping people walk across).
The only downsides I have now are they are a little difficult to get on- my toes slide right in, but it is tough to pull back and get the shoe behind my heel. It might add maybe 5 - 10 seconds to get it on. Another downside is the smell of them- I wear them barefoot and after sweating in them, they don't smell very good. Air drying them afterward works to a point. But you can easily throw them in the wash whenever you need to.

I got this shoe hoping it would help me with my IT Band problems and - no kidding - it did just that! I wore them out of the store and that night ran a few miles - no pain - I have had knee probems for 10 years and run every day - I am buying a second pair today and a pair for my husband as well. As far as the smell - I sprinkle the insides with baking soda when I wash them in the sink and they do not smell at all - baking soda works great!

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Multisport Water Shoes - Men's:
I have so much praise for these shoes I don't know where to begin. I've been wearing them exclusively for weeks now and I love everything about them. They may be the perfect footwear - simple, pure and inexpensive. There's a feeling of APPROPRIATENESS (this is not exactly the word, but owners of these shoes will know what I mean) about them... They make sense.
And running in them is life-changing! I've always sort of hated running, but now I actually DESIRE to run. All the time.
The one complaint I have is really a critique of people more than one of the shoe. Despite my most ardent recommendation, very few people (even family) are interested in buying a pair (despite the fact that they cost half that of most running shoes). It's disappointing to discover that something that feels so perfect - so natural - is alien and intimidating to others. Dogma reigns.

Odd looking shoe, but totally worth the money! My toes, feet, and lower legs were fatigued at first when I ran/hiked in them, but that's to be expected since I've kept my feet in shoes most of their lives. Sorry feet!

I bought these "shoes" (for lack of a better word)in the hopes of using them to go hiking more often. What has happened is that I use these extensions to my feet for nearly everything. Yesterday I wore them to go trail riding; I have worn them to Rugby practice, for for a morning run, surfing, grocery... and the list goes on.
They feel great, but look strange. General reaction is "Are those socks?" but after closer inspection and explanation people ask "where can I get a pair"

I just looked at my feet. I have VERY long big toes. In fact the size 42 that was suggested by the fitment chart is too short. Unfortunately, I needed 7+ miles over three outings to discover that the extreme tighness between my very long big toes and the opposite side of my heels have developed into the worst blisters on my heels I have had since doing basic training in combat boots. I have not found any stretching at all, and I doubt that my feet would survive waiting for that to happen as the end of my big toes pull very hard.
I will be ordering a 43 and hope REI will allow me a credit. I LOVE the effect these shoes have on my leg muscles. They are as effective as a weight workout in their stress they bring to a strenuous walk.
