The Mountain Hardware Direttissima technical backpack is designed for the serious user hauling alpine or climbing gear on single or multiday climbs.

  • Dual-density foam padded shoulder straps and hipbelt distribute load evenly for maximum comfort
  • HDPE framesheet with an alloy shaping rod helps transfer load to the hipbelt
  • Compression-molded backpanel balances ventilation, comfort and snow-shedding properties
  • Top-loading main compartment features an under-lid rope attachment
  • High-durability front tarp resists damage from ice axes, crampons and rocks
  • Hide-away, full-wrap compression straps clean up the look of the pack and let you cinch down loads for jostle-free carrying
  • Fully reinforced 3-point haul system and a center daisy chain let you attach alpine gear outside
  • Dual Axe-S toggle holds an ice axe or trekking pole securely, yet releases quickly on demand
  • Hydration-compatible design features a reservoir pocket and twin drink-tube exit ports for on-the-go hydration (reservoir sold separately)
  • For summit pushes and minimalist packing, put pack weight under 3 lbs.; simply remove framesheet and top pocket and swap padded hipbelt for 1.5-in. webbing hipbelt (included)

    I have used this pack on numerous scrambling adventures and i have not found a flaw yet. Mountain Hardwear once again makes a very high quality product. The pack is able to hold enough gear for days in the mountains, and yet it can be compacted down into a very little pack. There are tons of ways to attack gear on the outside as well. The pack keeps allows be to have a perfect center of gravity while scrambling over rocks. Great price. Lastly, the pack is durable and not even a direct blow from crampons did anything to it.

    Comments about Mountain Hardwear Direttissima Pack:

    I got this pack about a year ago and the only thing I dont like is the small amount of pockets. Otherwise its great, I used it last weekend on a late fall camping trip and it was fantastic. I packed a ECW military sleeping bad, my tent, fire supplies, food and other cooking supplies and still had room to spare. Its very comfortable, even on long trips with a heavy load. Its made of a durable material that withstands rocks and sand. the one thing i wish it had was air tight seems and zippers for extending weather proofing.
