Comments about Sierra Designs Vapor Light 2 XL Tent:
I have been looking for a tent that is light weight, and that I could trust in harsh winds. I sleep with a long pad, and bag set up, that doesn't seem to fit most tents. I saw the vapor light 2 when it came out, and thought that if it was longer it would be the perfect tent . Then I saw it; REI had their own XL version. First trip out was 3 days of constant rain and I was dry and comfortable every evening. This tent is perfect for me, and my dog, with pack and gear stored inside, however, it may be cramped at the feet for the 2 sleepers it was designed for.

Comments about Sierra Designs Vapor Light 2 XL Tent:
I'm not a big guy at 5'9", but I went with the XL over the standard and I am glad I did. It's just wide enough for two regular sleeping pads and the extra length is worth the small extra weight. The tent is high quality and sets up easily despite the poor instructions. The stuff sack is over sized which makes it easy to pack, but I wish it was smaller. The vestibule is large enough for a coupe of pairs of muddy boots and little more. That's all you need. Overall this tent rocks. If you are looking for a great new light weight shelter that is well constructed, roomy and durable pony up the dough and spend the extra $20 on the XL. Thanks REI for offering the XL.

Comments about Sierra Designs Vapor Light 2 XL Tent:
This is just a quick initial write up as I only picked up the tent yesterday. Therefore, I haven't tried the tent outside, or in any conditions for a thorough and in depth review.
Setup is very easy on this tent. A quick glance at the instruction manual lead to the tent and fly set up in my living room in about 4 mins (which includes the time spent reading the manual)
Things I've noted:
Spider-hub makes pole setup very easy. Tent clips onto poles for quick setup, therefore no weaving of poles though sleeves etc
The DAC's Jake's feet is a PRO and CON on this tent. First, the jakes feet is a plastic tab on each corner of the tent, with dedicated slots for sticking in either tent pole (ball and socket design) or clipping in the rainfly or clipping in the footprint. Therefore 3 specific slots on each jakes foot tab, that specifically accommodate for 3 different parts of your tent...this is a very organized way to setup a tent. The CON to this design is that it doesn't allow for setup with just the rainfly and foot print for your fast packing ultra lite trips. This is because the rainfly and footprint need their dedicated slots on the jakes foot, which is attached to the tent body itself. Therefore, no tent body=no jakes foot to clip the rainfly or footprint too.
On another note, the rain fly has an adjustable ladderlock for each of its 4 corner straps. So this makes centering the rainfly way easy, either before or after clipping it into the jakes foot.
Hopefully, i'll have a chance to test this tent out and give more details.

Comments about Sierra Designs Vapor Light 2 XL Tent:
Great tent! Used it backpacking with my son on the Colorado Trail. We camped at 10,800. It was a cold night so there was a little condensation, but not big deal. The tent is a great size for two (my son is 6'1") and comfortable. It is very easy to set up and rock solid!
We love it.

Comments about Sierra Designs Vapor Light 2 XL Tent:
Very nice tent. The long length makes it very comfortable for 2 6'+ adults. Very easy to set up. The tent is all mesh so in the cold weather (camping at 10,800 in Colorado) there was a bit of condensation on the fly...but all in all a great tent for any backpacking trip
