Our quick-drying Rendezvous Convertible pants are versatile enough for business or adventure travel and convert easily to capri length for easy-wearing style.

  • Nylon/spandex blend stretches with you, feels soft against your skin and wicks moisture off your body; under most travel conditions pants typically dry in an hour's time
  • Fabric is treated to offer excellent protection from the sun: Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) of 50+
  • Lower leg zips off to convert to capri length when the temperature rises, making these wonderfully adaptable

      Thanks to REI for finally making pants in petite sizes! I always have trouble finding pants that fit (pants are usually too long, have crotch that extends halfway to knees, or buttons somewhere just below my bra). The size 4's were too big, but the 4 petite fit just right. I liked them so much I bought the convertibles and the regular rendezvous pants (also available in petite, with what feels like slightly more rugged cut). Now all they need to do is make more colors (a dark green or a really dark khaki perhaps)? A lot of the REI pants (as well as North Face and Mountain Hardware)are some shade of bluish gray right now. Light colored khaki's stain easily, so I got the dark ones but do wish all my pants weren't the same color of blue/gray. I think REI could even replace the Sahara's with these - I've tried for years to make myself like the Saharas, but now I've found my favorite pants.

        These pants are fantastic! I got them to wear during a long hike I will be taking in August, and so far they are wonderful. I wear them as casual pants because they are still nice enough as a pair of khakis or chinos, but sporty enough to wear over a pair of shorts before or after a game (just get a size bigger and you'll have more leg room to wear it as an outer layer, but it still fits and looks nice). They have a nice flower detail on the inside too. The fabric is breathable but heavy enough to keep me warm on a cool night. Only con is that the front pockets are a little hard to get to because they are flat with a zipper, but that's tolerable.

          I purchased these pants for my 96-mile backpacking trip. I was impressed at their durability - and stoked because they are cute pants and I wanted to wear them beyond the backpacking trip. They did indeed hold up.

          These pants would be much better for travel versus backpacking, however. The capri length was annoying while hiking up long, steep switchbacks. I ended up rolling them up a bit. The spf factor was a plus and kept my knees from burning. I would have liked an additional pocket on the other leg for items that I wanted to grab in a pinch. I was able to stow a few things in the hip pockets and the pants were comfortable with the backpack's hip belt.

          The material was a bit thick and hot at times, but again... this would be an awesome traveling around Europe pant.

          A big plus is the draw string on the inside. I don't know about other women, but my hips and my waist are not always the cookie cutter size that hangs on the rack. This allows for a "custom" fit. I ended up not using the drawstring on the hike as it chaffed a bit.

          Overall, a great pant that wears well.

            I bought these pants for a two week trip to the Colorado Plateau. They are light, breathable and don't make you look like you have on mens pants. I love them and they even look good after you zip them into capri pants. Finally a pant that performs and makes you want to wear them. Low enough, fit great across the front and back and are not too long when you get out of your hikers and into a flip flop. I bought petite.

              I'm almost 5'2" and weigh 107lbs. Bought size 4 which fit great in the waist & hips--very cute for hiking duds. The only problem with REI 'petites' is that I have to shorten them! So unless you're handy with a sewing machine or prefer to wear heels when you're backpacking, I would not recommend these pants to another short person.

                These pants are awesome! I love them so much I now want to get them in onyx, too. They're comfortable and they breathe well. Their look is very versatile - I've worn them hiking, and I've also worn them with a nice shirt to go out at night. I love the fact that they zip off into capris-length --gives another option you don't typically get with one pair of pants. They also have a drawstring, so if your weight fluctuates, you can tighten/loosen them. Overall, great pants!
