Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.5 Self-Inflating Pad - Women's Regular:
I bought this for myself, but my husband didn't have a sleeping pad for our backpacking trip to Catalina, so I gave him this one and I got a Thermarest for myself. He found this pad to be very comfortable. At 5'8" tall, he didn't need a really long pad, and this ended up being just the right length for him. The only complaint with this pad would be the valve. It doesn't seem quite as durable as the Thermarest valve, and you have to make double sure it's closed. It's kind of like you have to close it, and then turn it another 1/8 to 1/4 turn for it to be fully closed. If you can get this on sale, I'd say go for it, but if the Thermarest is on sale and this one is not, I'd go with the Thermarest.

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.5 Self-Inflating Pad - Women's Regular:
I've never had a better and more comfortable sleeping pad for an affordable price (got it on sale). I sleep terrible if I can feel the hard ground below, but with this pad all I could feel was a soft surface. I had valve infation problems with my first two pads that I had to exchange, but the one I took backpacking served me well.

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.5 Self-Inflating Pad - Women's Regular:
This only the second thermal cushion I have used, but it is BETTER than the thermarest I was loaned. This one provided ample comfort (I slept on my side and still felt no rocks/sticks). On a 15 degree night, it was warm and kept me from feeling the snow beneath me. Lightweight too; on a 2 day backpacking trip into the Rockies, it offered great support/warmth for little weight. My sleeping bag did tend to slip off of it, as I was on an incline, but a purchase of straps would solve that problem. I am curious to see how it holds up, but it came with a repair kit and carrying case. I am quite literally a happy camper with this one.

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.5 Self-Inflating Pad - Women's Regular:
I bought this pad before heading out onto the High Sierra Trail for 6 days about a year ago. I am a 5' 7" male, and the salesman in the store suggested I buy the women's version rather than the men's. He said it packed a little lighter and smaller than the mens and was warmer across the middle. I couldn't argue with that logic, and I'm relatively short, so I bought it. It is as comfortable as any other thin, minimalist pad -- which is to say better than you'd expect, but nothing like a big thick car-camping air mattress. I've used it in temps down to the upper teens with a +15 bag and felt no ground cold. It has spent at least 50 nights in the woods and does double duty for me in a therma-rest sling chair -- all with no flats. It's durable, light weight, has extra insulation across the middle, and comes with a stuff sack and patch kit for less than the competition's pad alone. If you're less than 5' 8" and want to save a few ounces and a few dollars, give it a shot -- you can Sharpie-out where it says 'Women's" on the stuff sack.

A really great sleeping pad! Its warm, comfortable (you can't feel anything under you- even if you are a side sleeper) I used this pad on many backpacking trip including up in Arctic Sweden and it held up wonderfully (we slept outside every night). I love everything about it. A great buy!

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.5 Self-Inflating Pad - Women's Regular:
I went on a 8-day kayak trip and took this along. The pad did great! Got it dirty and it cleaned up well. Provided good comfort on sometimes rocks/uneven ground. Kept me warm, too. I slipped a little on slanted ground but nothing some straps couldn't fix. Only complaint would be the valve. You have to close it and then go an extra bit to make sure it's closed. When the pad stayed inflated, I slept beautifully!

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.5 Self-Inflating Pad - Women's Regular:
the first few times I used the pad I was very satisfied. I had so much cushion it almost felt like I was sleeping on a bed, I had so much more padding than my partner on his expensive therm-a-rest and mine had a bag and Velcro strap that kept it small and contained in my panniers. But after only a few uses I would wake up with it mostly deflated and when I went to fix it I found that the fabric had simply developed 10-20 pourius holes. All in all seems amazing but the materials ate poor.

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.5 Self-Inflating Pad - Women's Regular:
I love this mat, especially how light and compact it stows. It's perfect for backpacking and service trips. With car camping I would be spoiled and take an actual air mattress. I also loved that the REI brand comes with the carry bag and a patch for holes.

I bought one of these for my son and he loved it so I bought one for myself. I was quite comfortable sleeping outside on it. I also like the fact that I didn't have to pay extra for the bag to carry it in.

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.5 Self-Inflating Pad - Women's Regular:
I have the Men's Lite-Core, my wife has the Women's Lite-Core 1.5. I like mine, but her's is even more comfy! The fact that it folds in half before rolling up makes this pad pack down quite small. We are both beginners and therefore she isn't as versed at sleeping on the ground, but even being a bit more green to camping she has absolutely no problems falling asleep on the Lite-Core.The one difficulty with the sleeping pad would be that since my wife isn't all that burly, she sometimes needs a little help to squeeze all of the air out while rolling the pad up--but I just see that as the foam core doing it's job...REI continues to provide quality products at competitive prices.
