        Comments about REI Thermo Gloves/Mittens:

        Nice compromise between gloves & mittens. My fingers always get cold & wet in lightweight gloves, so I usually used to use mittens and rip them off when I need more dexterity than a crab. But these are great as I can fold them back for temp regulation or when I need to do something with my fingers.

        The thumb hole isn't all that great, as it's sort of tight with the thumb poking out, and it doesn't seal as well as when the mitten part is over the fingers. I'd probably be happy without having the thumb hole there.

          Great glove. Like any good convertible, you can put the top down in warmer weather. Sheds water surprisingly well. Thumb kept coming out of the thumb hole for me. I think I have smaller than average thumbs because on EVERY pair of gloves, I complain about the thumbs being too long.

          Good for cool to cold weather but not really cold or really windy.

          I have to get a pair for the wife now.

          These are pretty good but for what they cost they should be much better made. They have all this itchy stuff - open seams, the inside of tags, etc - on the inside of the wrists. I had to cut all that stuff off and sew covers on some parts to make them comfortable - something that should have been done in the manufacturing process. The convertible feature is great for answering your cell phone and the like without having to take them off.
