Trail-worthy and pavement-savvy, the Novara Tractor boasts a 21-speed drivetrain and a quick-release front hub.

  • Kids can ride long and hard on the Tractor—its suspension fork smoothes out the rough terrain and the wide gear range takes on demanding terrain
  • Nimble 6061 aluminum frame is lightweight and durable, making it easy for kids to manage
  • Spinner Grind suspension fork with 80mm of travel soaks up the bumps, helps maintain control and reduces arm fatigue
  • Smooth Shimano derailleurs and the 21-speed drivetrain give lots of gear choices to tackle the ups and downs
  • Powerful, trustworthy Tektro linear-pull brakes are easy to use
  • Tough multi-use tread design on the Kenda tires rolls smoothly on the pavement and hangs on tightly in the dirt
  • Quick-release front wheel makes it easy to transport the Novara Tractor in or on top of the car
  • Rear moto-style fender and front down tube deflector help to keep your kid somewhat clean and protected from flying mud!

After an initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

      I bought this bike for my son who has been dying to ride with me. We have a trail around our local lake that is single track goodness.         We purchased this bike for our Son about two months ago. He's ridden it about 50+ miles, including a 25 miler. Our son is 9 yrs old and he absolutely loves the bike. The bike has a quality look and feel. Thanks to the aluminum frame, it also feels light, which is a bonus for our young son. Learning how and when to shift the gears has been a fun experience for him. We are very happy with the purchase

          We bought this bike for our son about two months ago and he's already ridden it about 50+ miles. One of the rides was a 25 miler on a country road with a group of boy scouts. Both the Tractor and my son did very well (he's nine yrs old). The bike is a smooth ride both on and off the road and is well built. He loves it and we do too!

            Our son was so excited when we picked up his new bike at our local REI. His excitement hasn't stopped yet. He gets a lot of use out of his Tractor 24. The bike handles great on forest roads and moderate single track trails. The bike is very sturdy and solid. We settled on the Novara after test riding a few other brands. For the price I honestly feel you can't beat this bike for component quality and build.

            Service and delivery comments:

            Delivery was fast and the service techs at our REI store were very helpful. They adjusted the bike for our sons current size.
