Comments about La Sportiva Nago Rock Shoes - Men's:
Ok Its about time I wrote a review for these shoes. I bought these shoes when i first started climbing about a year ago. These shoes are great for beginners. They give you the jist of what its like to climb. I've been climbing 3 to 5 days a week in these shoes for a year and the only tearing that has occured is were the rubber and leather meet on top of the shoe and thats because i have very narrow feet and they bunch up right there. They edge, heel hook, and toe cam great. the only problems that they are a very hard rubber and don't stick very well. You can smear ok but don't expect to be able able to use them great on the side of holds if in a gym. The hard rubber does allow for the shoes to last forever. Like i said i've been climbing 3 to 5 days a week for the past year and no damage to the tip of the toe like most all shoes have. So without beating these shoes up they are excellent for beginners.
The leather does form to your feet after a while, which is great. I like the lace up because you get a better fit in the shoe i don't like my toes cramped unbearable so i went down only one size. which is tight but doesn't hurt and i can wear them for almost 5 hours before they start to hurt. I don't like to have my toes curled underneath each other. The laces aren't very long so they don't get in the way. Hopefully that helps for people getting started. I know i needed that info before. But personally if you want a shoe that sticks well or you want shoes that are better but for a beginner i would go with 5 10 gambit or the evolve defy which stick great. but that just my opinion. (just remember to figure four it. ha)

Comments about La Sportiva Nago Rock Shoes - Men's:
I just started climbing a month and a half ago and purchased these on the recommendation of the salesperson. They are excellent shoes that grip well indoors, but they really excel outside where the grip is amazing. The only drawback (that may not really be a drawback for climbing purposes) is the pain of having laces instead of the ease of just slipping them on and off. Not really an issue with performance but with convenience.

Comments about La Sportiva Nago Rock Shoes - Men's:
I just started climbing. Since my other athletic shoes are men's, I wasn't surprised after trying on a variety of women's models that my feet felt more comfortable in this shoe. I have average feet. I went down from a women's 10 to a men's 8,to the recommendation of the sale's clerk who had been climbing 10yrs +. He was right when he said I'd know the shoe was right when I put it on. My toes seemed to be put right where they needed to be with just enough wiggle room- but none laying flat. They fit around the heel perfectly.
My first bouldering was "comfortably uncomfortable"- I noticed a remarkable new steadiness not there before, but my toes were still getting used to their new position. I know the shoe will stretch.
Cons- my feet were dyed red at first use. And going head-on (tippy toe-ing) the holds was often slippery and I couldn't feel the wall very easily through the tip. At the same time, these shoes promise to last a while due to the thickness of the rubber.
I would recommend laces for beginners because it will support the foot even more while you're building foot strength.

They seem to conform to my feet better the longer I climb.
Not so great to walk around flat ground on, but on the rock it's like their not even there.
A little tight at first, but after I broke them in the leather started shaping to my feet better.

This is really a great first shoe. It will stretch, so size down as much as you feel like you can without being miserable. Mine lasted me a solid 9 months (which isn't bad starting out, as you're guaranteed to go through your first pair with sloppy footwork). They've stretched a bit much for me now, so I just ordered my next pair. They do fine for edging, and decent enough for smearing after you've broken them in. They'll also be plenty comfortable, which is a big plus when starting out. They'll get you through that first few months when you're figuring out technique and "fine-tuning" your footwork. They do fine indoor or out.

Comments about La Sportiva Nago Rock Shoes - Men's:
I think these shoes are great. They're my first pair of rock climbing shoes, so I guess I don't have much to compare them against.
They fit a little narrow the first few times I wore them, but I would imagine it takes a couple days to break in any rock shoes.
They also turn your feet red if you sweat in them, but that wasn't a huge deal.
Overall, I'm happy with them.

Comments about La Sportiva Nago Rock Shoes - Men's:
These were my second pair of shoes and I was really excited when I felt how comfortable they were. They fit great, and hugged my feet perfectly.
The first pair i had stretched out though, and the second pair that I have right now started falling apart after my second climb. The rubber over the heel started peeling off and a stiching came undone toward the toe.
Cheap pair of shoes.

Comments about La Sportiva Nago Rock Shoes - Men's:
I love the fit of this shoe. The rubber is soft and therefore offers superior smearing performance. Edging is also excellent. I had to return these shoes however due to durability issues. If you see how the rubber is laminated over the toe edge, you can already see where it is going to fail. After a couple weeks of climbing, the rubber peels away from the edge.

i just started climbing in late february. this is a great shoe. had it for about a month and a half. hasn't stretched much. and it is just starting to break in, climbing once a week, now up to twice a week
i can wear them now for about 2 hours before my feet start to hurt. but i think that it has more to do with weak feet muscles than the shoe fit. the fit is great, i have really wide feet so i only went down a half size.
so far these shoes have gotten me to 5.9 and v1. i think i may need a more aggressive shoe for 5.10 and higher or v2/3 boulder problems. but for my first shoe, these are fantastic.
