Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
I bought the waist pack for an Ultra and the first time I used it, the retaining cord broke. Returned it and got another and it had the same problem first time out. It is sewn into the seam with out any sort of backing. Other than that, it is stable, holds what I need it to hold, and is east to adjust. I would spend the money for one of the other brands though.

Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
I use this hydration waistpack for distance running. Today I took it out on an 8-mile jog. While I was taking sips every mile, I still had some water left when I got home. Probably it will be enough capacity for my 10-mile runs.
I really like the styling and colors of the belt and bottles. The zipper pouch in the middle is very spacious; I use it to hold energy bars and gels. Inside there's a clip to hold your keys in place.
When I first put on the belt I had it fairly high around my waist but found it felt too bulky in this position. So instead I hung it really low and snug around my hips and within five or ten minutes I had almost forgotten about the 48 ounces of water I was hauling along with me. Needless to say, it's best to drink a little out of one bottle, then a little out of the other so they stay balanced.
Nonetheless, I feel that when the bottles are full it's a lot of weight to have across my abdomen. Also, as a distance runner I like to keep my arms low, but sometimes my arms hit the bottles. So I need to change my form and keep my arms farther out at my sides.
I think that if I bought another hydration belt, I'd get one of the kind where the water weight is distributed in several smaller bottles all around the waist, rather than in two big bottles in the front.

Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
This product is the best fuel/hydration belt I have found thus far. Tag says 24oz per bottle but they are more like 20oz. No matter, the pocket will fit any bottle you can use in a bike bottle cage. Pocket is generous, enough room to fit another large bottle, keys, cell phone, etc! You cannot zip it with the extra bottle, but it is nice to be able to carry more water. This works great for marathon training as you can take 72 oz of water and not have to carry a backpack hydration system, or plan your runs around water availability! Bungees are not substantial and were not used, except the one for putting your gloves or hat in once you warm up. That could easily be replaced for pennies. Belt was very stable, easily adjustable and is very comfortable. It does not jostle around like the belts with elastic do. If you are smaller at the waste, elastic belts tend to creep up and up if you like to wear your belt down a little on the hips, this did not. I will be purchasing another!

Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
Endurance walker training for marathon #3, my Double Shot carries enough fluids to get me through 10 miles and has plenty of room for a couple of nutrition bars, cell phone, stick of BodyGlide, and other small essentials. I've also used it on casual trips to the zoo, etc. when I wanted to travel light and hands-free.
I've recommended it to training partners and they agree.

Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
I needed a pack to put my cell and keys when I went rollerblading in the park. This pack gives you the most space, fits my blackberry, full set of keys, even a snack bar. I tried to put my cell in every pack at the store and this one and the single shot were the only ones that it would fit in.

Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
I have used this product a lot for day hikes. It is very comfortable, easily adjustable, and holds an adequate amount of water. While the zippered compartment is small it does come in handy. The bottle valve can be a little difficult to open, but at least it does not leak. My only complaint is that the retaining loops are worthless. One of mine broke in no time even though I wasn't being abusive with it.

Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
I recently took a job with the sanatation department and am constantly on the move for 4-6 hours a day, out doors. Wanting to be able to stay hydrated lead me to buy the Double Shot Waist Pack and it is well suited for what I wanted it for. It is not heavy or cumbersome even with both bottles filled and the zippered pouch is very handy. The only complaint I have(which is very minor) is the plastic bottles are stiff and do not squeeze easily. None the less, I am going to purchase another to have as a back-up and highly recommend this item.

Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
I love the fit and finish of the Double Shot, with one caveat. The retaining loops for the bottles aren't secured worth a $*#Y#(#. One of mine pulled out before I even got the sales tag off. For my kind of activities, I really don't need them, but with all of the quality I've come to expect from REI products, it disappointed me.

Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
I purchased this for training and walking in the Breast Cancer 3 day. The water bottle tabs broke when I took the bottles out for the first time. I had read that this happens and I overlooked it. I feel that they were unnecessary and could be excluded. All three days and 60 miles the pack worked well holding: socks, water, sports drinks, snacks, my iPhone, body glide, wallet, and blister care bandages. I would buy this again even with the bottle retention strap issue. The pack fit well and was very comfortable.

Comments about REI Double Shot Waist Pack:
Bought this carrier so when I go hiking with my kids I have an easy way to carry water AND not end up carrying their water bottles in my hands. It's comfortable and holds enough water for a 2-4 hour hike, at least with my kids. It's comfortable and has a small pocket big enough for a few small items or a snack. This water carrier allows me to have water for a decent hike and keep my hands on my camera and walking stick instead of 2 water bottles. Like it a lot.
