Comments about REI Venturi 40 Pack - Women's:
Because of my build, I have a very hard time finding a pack that fits me right. I tend to end up with raw marks from rubbing. This pack was shown to be at my local store. It is wonderful. I was able to get a size that's small enough to fit my waist and adjustable enough to fit my height. I took it on a 9 1/2 hour hike in the Grand Canyon and I had no rub marks from the pack.
It is also very effective at distributing the weight evenly.

Comments about REI Venturi 40 Pack - Women's:
I bought this pack after some research and trying a few out at the store.
Some things I love about it:
- It's great quality for the price. I could hardly tell the difference between it and the more expensive ones.
- It's very comfortable. Even while carrying 15lbs more than I'm generally used to hauling, I barely noticed the difference. The padding is just awesome.
- The curved back ventilation is really good. My back stayed cool and dry through several miles of 95+ degree Arizona heat.
- Plenty of straps and misc. hook points on the outside of the pack to from which to hang my crocs, towel, trekking poles, etc.
- Plenty of storage, if you know what you're doing when you pack. You wont be able to pack out the kitchen sink.
The only complaint I have is the length of the hip straps. My hips are 42in around which, on this pack, leaves very little extra strapping for easy adjustments.

Comments about REI Venturi 40 Pack - Women's:
I bought this pack because it was the largest load capacity with dimensions to pass airline carry-on allowance. Although it's a little longer than regulations allow, it made it with me though out the UK and The States. The pack was highly rain resistant, and kept my clothes dry in the Scotland rains.
The only complaint I have about the pack is, it is a bit too long for my torso. (I have a medium and my torso is around a 15/16") When the pack was lightly loaded many issues arose that would have been easily solved with a shorter frame. The pack should be offered in smaller frames, or with adjustable frames/harnesses.

Comments about REI Venturi 40 Pack - Women's:
I absolutely love this pack. I used to travel w/ a large (65L) kelty, and i thought all backpacks were supposed to be uncomfortable... NOT SO! this totally distributes the weight perfectly on my hips allowing me to move like i don't have a pack on at all. It's actually surprising how much this can hold as well. It generally fits my sleeping bag, sleeping mat (on the outside), camp stove, cookware (pots, bowls, etc), food, clothes/gear and a generous amount of water for hikes anywhere from 4-7 days. I've loaded it down pretty well and it still works like a charm. The ventilation is also EXCELLENT. There's plenty of room b/w the pack and your back, and you can actually hang your water system there if you're carrying a large load.
