Comments about Petzl Nomad 9.8mm x 60m Dry Rope:
First off, Petzl took their time and put in a lot of thought into this rope... They did a fine job. This rope feels good on the hands, on belay or rappel. It is one of the best ropes I have ever used... climb-ready coil to boot.

Comments about Petzl Nomad 9.8mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I loved this rope for the first few weekends of climbing. After a couple of months, I noticed fraying in the sheath that I attributed to running it over a sharp edge and not remembering. The rope was cleaned, so there wasn't anything in the rope causing the fraying. A couple of months later and the sheath was blown out. I have heard of this happening with other Petzl ropes as well. I have had many other ropes that have not had this kind of issue with them.

Comments about Petzl Nomad 9.8mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I bought two petzl ropes at the same time and so far I've been unimpressed with both of them. At least this one actually works well though. A good do it all rope, this rope is durable enough to top rope with friends but light enough to do longer multi-pitch routes. All this being said the rope is avg with nothing really setting apart from the ropes that Mammut or Sterling make.

Comments about Petzl Nomad 9.8mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I've owned this rope for about a year now, and over smooth top rope climbs, and sharp edged trad climbs, I've never had any issues with the rope. I'm not sure what other people are doing with this rope, taking 50 foot boomers maybe? Very little signs of sheath wear and no flat spots after extended use. Easy to see markings and a very high visibility color makes it easy to live with; runs great through my various belay devices, rappels just fine. Doesnt "stick" in tube belay devices like mushier ropes.

Comments about Petzl Nomad 9.8mm x 60m Dry Rope:
This rope lasted 3 weekend trips. I've climbed 9.8 from other companies and they've lasted longer. I won't buy another petzl rope again. I ended up having to cut the ends because it got fuzzy and felt thin. Then I just didn't feel safe climbing on it anymore, not worth my life for a weak rope.

Comments about Petzl Nomad 9.8mm x 60m Dry Rope:
These ropes are great! The color is perfect so you can see them from everywhere... the middle point is perfectly drawn so nothing dangerous would happen when you are repelling.
