This short, tapered-fit PFD is designed to fit women comfortably while maximizing freedom of movement for greater comfort on the water.

    I bought the BetSEA this fall for aquatics guide training at school. I had used a friend's this summer for some lake paddling and found it quite comfortable. I have a short torso, so the adjustability to get it to fit my small frame was the biggest draw.

    Though the BetSEA fits well, the more I paddled this fall the more drawbacks I found. I used the PFD for whitewater rafting, inflatable kayaking, and whitewater canoeing. Part of my training involved getting upside-down rafts and kayaks righted and getting everyone back into them. Therefore, my PFD received a lot of use in the water. The good news... it does help a person float. The biggest problem I found with the BetSEA came with getting back into a raft or kayak. As I would pull myself into the boat, the front of my PFD would brush against the boat. Just that motion, would pull the zipper of the BetSEA down... Not something I found comforting in the middle of rapids.

    If I was to get a new PFD, I'd look for one with a zipper on the side, to avoid getting it caught on the side of my boat. The comfort and adjustability of the BetSEA are a big draw. If you are doing lake paddling, I recommend this PFD to you.

      This is a very comfortable PFD - they obviously took care in designing for a woman - no smashing, if you get my drift... I also like the big pocket & the key fob. Comfortable arm openings let me kayak all day in comfort - no rubbing.

      I used it the entire summer at least 3 days a week, 8 hour days and it was definitely comfortable, rode up a bit but that's pretty normal for a PFD. It has a nice big pocket which is great for storing quite a bit (I carried 5 carabiners, a large sunblock and chapstick with room to spare!). The only real downside I found was the fact that it has that cream color that gets and stays pretty dirty. Not the end of the world but I would have preferred a color that was a little more dirt friendly.

        I just bought my Betsea 3 months ago and I love it. I tried on many PFD's before I bought this one, and I am very happy with my purchase. It fits well and is lightweight for comfort. It dries quickly which is a plus. As a woman, it is so nice to kayak with a comfortable vest. I would recommend it to anyone.

            I like this vest, although at 5'2" the body is a little long. It is the most comfortable one I have found to date, and as a 2-3 X weekly kayaker, I am pleased with the overall performance.

                I don't have this exact model, but one that's a few years old. I don't think they've changed the design that much, so I'm giving my 2 cents at least for the one that I own. I definitely fall into the "busty" category and this pfd accommodates that fabulously. Every other pfd I've tried in the past on has squashed me to the point that I had had a hard time breathing, so I was thrilled when I came across this woman-specific pfd that was obivously designed for women.
