If you have a thermarest, you need a stuff sack. It keeps the thermarest clean and dry, and the daisy chain makes it a cinch to attached to a backpack. The thermarest has to be rolled very tight in order to fit in the bag (but that keeps your gear compact, right?), and one should not store the thermarest in it long term (the thermarest needs to be stored inflated so that it self inflates when needed).

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
