Comments about Therm-a-Rest Universal Mattress Coupler:
I only bought this because it was the only coupler available at the store....the thing is, I have a pair of BA Air Cores and this so-called "universal coupler" was completely worthless when paired with them. If you own some BA ACs, try instead the exped coupler.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Universal Mattress Coupler:
I have used this a few times now and every time it has come apart during use. If you move during the night then this thing is going to slip and come apart. You would be better off just to find a large rubber band.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Universal Mattress Coupler:
The pouch is handy to stow the straps. The straps don't slip on one side, but are smooth on the other. They seem a little light duty in terms of materials and construction. One could easily make a similar product more sturdily for equal or less money if he bought his own buckles and strapping, though it migh be heavier.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Universal Mattress Coupler:
The buckles don't grip the tape at all, so it's essentially impossible to use this without putting a damaging, bulky knot into the tape above the buckle. I love my Therma-rest pads, I own 4 of them. But this product is barely better than useless and certainly not worth the $$. REI really ought to drop it completely.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Universal Mattress Coupler:
We bought a pair of thermarest couplers years ago. There was no adjusting needed, they just looped around the pads. They still work just fine but we now have 2 very small kids with us so we wanted to just hook the 4 pads together. All I can say is the 2 pads connected with our old couplers stay just fine for days.....the new couplers are horrible. Bring back the old and make them in America!

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Universal Mattress Coupler:
I almost didn't buy this because of the bad reviews of it but the clerk in the store allowed me to look it over and I decided to try it. It worked for us. We used a Camprest and Camprest Luxury (older large self inflating pads) and strapped them together with buckles under the mattresses and the straps snug on the mattresses. We used them for about two weeks every night. The straps didn't come off or loosen and the matresses didn't separate. I have the old non-buckle version and this performed as well but with a bit more setup time.

Comments about Therm-a-Rest Universal Mattress Coupler:
I put off buying this for so very long and I wish I hadn't. I wasn't convinced that it would work, but the nights I've camped since I got it have been heaven with 10+ hours of solid sleep (no waking up in the "crack")! It's a little chintzy, but I love it anyway.
