Comments about Mad Rock Mad Pad:
My friend and I bought this as our first crash pad and took it to the Buttermilks and it did great. We came home with no sprains or cracked domes.
It's a really thick pad which is good for the falls and it's still firm so you're not gonna roll your ankle on it. But since it's so thick it is kinda bulky but what pad isn't?
The price is right and the protection is there, what more could you ask for?

Wow, thick and durable. What else can you ask for from a crash pad.

Comments about Mad Rock Mad Pad:
The pad has a great price and is good for those getting started bouldering. I would like the pad to be a little larger, and the thickness is nice for falling on but annoying when you need to carry the pad around. The couch feature is a good idea but i hardly ever use it, and to have the couch option the pad needed to be made with really long closure straps which get in the way. All in all a good buy.

Comments about Mad Rock Mad Pad:
This is a great pad for any climber, particularly bouldering. A little on the smaller side but you can rig several pads together with the velcro attached to the sides. These things also double as a couch! Great if you have storage problems. Easy to carry around as well since it has shoulder straps attached.

Comments about Mad Rock Mad Pad:
It's really not so bulky since it's so light. You can carry some of your smaller gear in it too, since it has the velcro to keep it closed. I'm short so I'm glad the straps tighten enough for me and my climbing buddy ( who's skinnier than I am) to carry it with lots of comfort. I suppose it is slightly wide, but I haven't used any other brands so I'm really not sure. And, I'd rather it be kind of wide when folded since that means more ground coverage and hence more safety!

Comments about Mad Rock Mad Pad:
Thick, Rugged, Comes with a doormat to wipe your climbing shoes free of dirt and leaves, and reasonably priced.
Backpack straps make it easy to carry. I like to sandwich my shoes and stuff in between the two pads and then close it up to hold everything (so you dont also have to carry a backpack).

Comments about Mad Rock Mad Pad:
I've carried lots of pads and this one is the very lightest. And I love that it comes with a carpet for standing on if the ground is wet. A sensible design overall.

Comments about Mad Rock Mad Pad:
I bought this pad a year ago and I haven't gone a day without catching flak from the climbing community for it ! HAHAHA This pad is tough! I've fallen on it numerous times from a couple highballs and it stands up to the punishment. If you like softer pads then I would go with another brand but this pad does it's job well!

Comments about Mad Rock Mad Pad:
Purchased this pad to be used at my home bouldering gym. I like it. As a couch, it is not very comfortable. Two of them together would make for a nice bed.

Comments about Mad Rock Mad Pad:
These pads are big & thick and the 5" of padding do a great job of absorbing impact. Plus you can't beat the price. I bought two of them for more surface area. The velcro flaps on the pads are designed to connect the pads together to make one large seamless pad. It makes it very easy to manuver the pads and move them from problem to problem. The pads are light and comfortable to carry on your back even on long hikes to more remote locations.
