Comments about Topeak MTX TrunkBag EXP with Zip-Down Panniers:
This bag allows me to finally commute 3-4 times a day to work. I often bring leftovers to work for lunch, but the lunch can be spaghetti with meat sauce, or other stuff that may spill over, even in a Tupperware on its side. A backpack would not do. MTX Trunk Bag mounted to a rear bike rack, allows me put my lunch in an upright position. It's been working out great! I also don't need to carry a backpack to my back which allows me to stay a little cooler (ventilation) and dryer on my back when I arrive to the office instead of being hot and sticky right off the bat in the morning. I used a quick release Topeak rear bike rack to mount this bag to my mountain bike. This allows me to take them off for a weekend mountain biking. Instead of having a mountain bike and a commuting bike, I can do both with one bike and safe some space in the apartment. Other than that, I'll repeat what other reviews had mentioned: great for shopping with the expandable bags & the bag's quick dismount feature helps me take the bag into the supermarket with me conveniently and quickly. THE DOWNSIDE of the bag is that it is heavy. More importantly, it's rear heavy with the rack, which causes the bike to be less agile. This is from a mountain biker's point of view, but I guess for commuting, it is just fine.

Comments about Topeak MTX TrunkBag EXP with Zip-Down Panniers:
Great bag, very durable, and the panniers are excellent. They zip up when you don't need them and pop out for grocery shopping, etc. I'm able to fit two 1/2gal milk containers in each pannier, plus more on top and in the main compartment. It's reasonably waterproof by itself, but they sell a waterproofing cover, which I do not have. I use the bag primarily for commuting, and a complete set of work clothes fits into the main compartment with no need to deploy the panniers. A large u-lock fits nicely inside too, or on the top under the included elastic mesh.
I use the bag in conjunction with a Topeak MTX-compatible quick-release rack and it's very good. The quick-release system is instantaneous and appears to be very durable. Highly recommended, especially with the matching rack!

Comments about Topeak MTX TrunkBag EXP with Zip-Down Panniers:
I bike commute to work at an office style setting. I need to wear a "business casual" sort of attire and arriving in sweaty shirts or slacks doesn't cut it. This makes getting to work with my clothes, shoes and a lunch a breeze! Slips on the rack and I'm good to go. Perfect for day trips and just running errands.

Comments about Topeak MTX TrunkBag EXP with Zip-Down Panniers:
I originally got this bag for use commuting on fire road too and from UC santa cruz on my mountain bike. I would highly recommend the topeak rack, and bag system to anyone who is commuting. They easily, securely and quickly clip together and I never worried about it on slightly rough trails. It gets the weight off your back, which allows you to ride, sweet, and forget about it. Because there is a slide and clip system it works well for just taking cloths and lunch, or placing books, and running shoes in the fold up panniers. While it does add some weight to your bike, (I now live in chicago and it is very noticeable on my road bike), I still move faster with the weight off my back when I can just think about pushing and not a shifting bag.

Comments about Topeak MTX TrunkBag EXP with Zip-Down Panniers:
I really like the ease of mounting this bag with one simple push of a button. The bag is lightweight, durable, and attractive.
The downside though, is that sometimes I need to carry more stuff and the zip down paniers are just too small. (I should have bought the larger, expandible version.)
Also, the bag only accomodates one brand of rear light. I'd like to see other options.

Comments about Topeak MTX TrunkBag EXP with Zip-Down Panniers:
I purchased this trunk bag with the Topeak Explorer rack about 3 months ago because I was tired of having to wear a backpack and get to the office drenched in sweat. My bike/ rail commute is about 14 miles round trip, and I'm able to fit a change of clothes, dress shoes, jacket, and lunch in the side panniers, and a u-lock, phone, and misc. bike items in the main compartment of the bag. The panniers are a lot roomier than I was led to believe by other reviewers, and so far, I have had no issues with the zippers breaking or premature wear on the bag. I agree that having a handle that supports the bag affixed to a zippered pocket may not be the smartest design idea in the world, but so far mine has held up. Granted, the bag may be a little bit heavy, but the panniers are very easy to fold up and stow, and it has'nt thrown my balance off on the bike in any way. One drawback to the bag is in Topeak's use of reflective strips - there is a reflective strip running vertically down each side of the paniers which is great. Unfortunately, there is no reflective strip on the back of the bag. If you can live with the weight, and don't have to carry a ton of stuff on your commute, this makes a great trunk bag.

This helps be greatly with riding my bike to work, and helps me tote my change of clothes. I can add my lunch, clothes, and other things to the bag. It may be a bit heavy, and I had to modify it slightly to fit onto my non-Topeak rack.

I bike commute to work 4-5 times/week and use it to take a load of clothes back and forth 1-2 times/week. I also used it for an overnight tour (125 miles the first day) and it worked great!

Lots of storage areas for clothes, notebooks, lunch box, shoes, towels. I use it when I ride to work and also when I ride to the pool. Easy to slide on and off the bike to store in my office or locker.

Comments about Topeak MTX TrunkBag EXP with Zip-Down Panniers:
The bag is awesome because of the quick connect, you don't have to leave the bag on when you leave the bike. My first one of these ripped on day 2. One of the handles on top came unstitched on one side leaving the handle much less useful. The second one ripped in the bottom seam of the pannier, I had a u lock in there and it tore right through the seam. This is just from use on city streets, not off road. These should be build to withstand being full and bounced around. I considered strengthening the whole setup, but I returned it instead, REI is great.
