Comments about Petzl Mini Traxion Pulley:
Where do I start? I've been climbing since 1995. This little guy goes with me always. During snow school teaching crevase rescue, its a dream. Hauling "light" pigs on the big wall this system works. Go to youtube and search "El Capitan - Lurking Fear" to see a guy set up a haul system using this device. The "Pro-trax" is made for bigger loads, yet "Pass the Pitons Pete" has blown one up before. When I was learning to aid climb, no one would belay me for hours, so I set up a top fixed line, I used the Mini-trax to self belay up the line. Really the possibilities are limited to your knowledge. That said, READ, READ, READ. Just buying gear doesn't make you a climber. Almost everything I've learned, some climber wrote the book about it.
Good luck, be smart, and be safe.

Comments about Petzl Mini Traxion Pulley:
Good product for aid climbing. Can be used to haul light loads or in combination 3:1 pulley systems. Also great for a backup when jugging/cleaning vertical pitches. GriGri with solo modification works much better for solo aid and/or cleaning wandering/traversing pitches.
Can also be used on your zip line for pulling up extra gear/water/food on a long aid pitch.

Comments about Petzl Mini Traxion Pulley:
I've used my mini traxion in a variety of interesting ways over the years that I've owned it. Its great as a pulley in a haul line, or to back up any load bearing rope, such as in a rescue. I've had the opportunity to experiment with it for caving purposes, too, usually as part of a vertical ascent system. In all cases, and withstanding all abuse, the mini traxion has proven itself a useful ally and even an essential tool in times of need. You won't regret having this around if you need to get out of a tight spot fast.
