Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam - Special Buy:
Got these convertibles discounted. I was unsure of the size because they come in S, M, L, XL, so I went with the Medium. I'm glad I did. I normally wear a size 33x32 jean and the medium fit well, though if I were any larger in the waist, I'd opt for the large. The legs are roomy enough I could layer if it gets cold, but not so much as to rub or bunch during normal walking. The pants seem to be well constructed and thought out. I like that ALL the pockets are mesh and sewn in, rather than hanging free inside the pants. There's just enough pockets without being too many, though they're not pleated so it's only good for semi-flat items. I'd describe the weight of the fabric as medium-to-light. Heavier than similar North Face or Xofficio pants I've felt, but still light weight. I'd call them light-to-medium duty, warm weather pants. Too bad they don't appear to be ripstop. The zippers come to just above my knee, which I prefer over shorter shorts, and the zipper doesn't rub or bother me, with or without the legs zipped on. They even have a little L and R on the zipper pull so you know which is which. I like these pants. Definitely a good buy for the money. The only negative I can think of is the belt, it's basically useless, but I planned on wearing my own belt anyway (take note the belt loops are small, so you have to wear a thin belt).

bought two pairs of these and i'm taking them back. the sizing chart says the medium should fit 32-34 inch waist...i have a 32 in. waist and these fit tight around my backside. no complaints otherwise...construction seems good and i like that the shorts have a 10 1/2 in. inseam. i'm 6'2" and they hit just above my knees when the legs are zipped off.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam - Special Buy:
I haven't truely field tested these pants yet, so I don't know if the fabric will hold up to the elements.
Other than that these pants are sweet! They even have two painter pants type pockets on the right leg which aren't listed or pictured. That's nine pockets. If you like to stash a lot of things for quick grab like I do then these would be the pants your looking for. The shorts are the perfect length and the zippers don't rub on my knees at all. I have already recommended these to a friend. They are the right price, have cool colors to choose from, and fit really well.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam - Special Buy:
I bought two pairs of these pants and am buying another - that should speak to my happiness with the product.
The pants are lightweight, breathe well, and dry quickly when wet. The material washes well, without pilling, and doesn't seem to hold stains. There are numerous pockets for storage, including a mesh pocket you can roll the zipped-off legs into that provides hook-and-loop tabs to attach it to your pack or other gear. The zippers for the convertible legs are backed and do not rub/chafe/annoy me (may be different for you). The pulls are marked L / R so you don't mix the legs up trying to reattach them.
The inseam is listed as 32", but the pants seem to be cut for wearing a hiking boot or other shoe with a thicker sole. I usually wear a 34" inseam, and the cuffs of these pants fall at the same height as my other 34"-inseam pants. The crotch in these pants is also a bit low, and the legs a bit wide/baggy. Lastly, you'll probably want to replace the belt that ships with these pants, as it uses a flimsy-feeling plastic tab to buckle and tends to loosen up with wear, allowing the hip straps from your pack to push the waistband of the pants down as you walk.
I originally bought these pants just for three-season outdoor use, but have found myself wearing them around the house and to work - they're very comfortable. The fit and finish is not quite on par with some of the other "name" brands, but for the price these pants are hard to beat.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam - Special Buy:
The main issue is they are too baggy in the lower legs. After looking carefully, length is OK, but give the illusion of being way too long since there is so much fabric. Also, I'm thin, but these are still too baggy in thighs. Overall sloppy look. Belt attachment is unusual, but seems to work and hold fine. Ordered online, returned these without wearing, then bought at local REI store the North Face Horizon Surplus Pants with MUCH better look & fit.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam - Special Buy:
These convertible pants work great. they are comfortable, good for hiking. The legs come off easily and store in a nice pouch. Yes the legs rub, but that is minor. I've worn these to track events, hiking and backpacking and been happy with them in all places. My only complaints are the belt is marginal and needs to be replaced and the main zipper doesn't work well if the top snap has already been released. I encouraged 3 friends to buy these for an upcoming scout backpack trip to New Mexico. They too, love the pants.

I liked style and price, but the problem was that legs were too wide and making sounds every time you walk.
It was hard to wear this alone without base layer becuase convertable zippers make your skin unconfortable.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Men's 32'' Inseam - Special Buy:
These "convertible" pants are very similar to a Columbia product also sold at REI, but at a much lower price. And they have a couple more pockets that are very useful. Quality/construction seems good, though this is my first season with them. They are light and airy enough to be worn for sun protection while kayaking, and they dry quickly. The belt is useless, but so is the one that comes with the Columbia brand pants.
